Gorden Kaye On Wogan

In which Tel reveals he doesn’t own a video cassette recorder, or at least doesn’t know how to set the timer on it. Should have asked Monkhouse.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t aware that ‘Allo ‘Allo was so directly parodying the show Secret Army, but here’s a nice behind the scenes clip of the latter show, courtesy of The TV Museum.

It’s fascinating to see that field video camera on the Thames shoot at the end, and it reminded me how unusual it was for The Young Ones exterior scenes to have been shot on video not film, even two years later.

I wonder if the Norwegian character Kaye mentions to Wogan was for the Screen Two episode In The Secret State.
