I am enjoying my rediscovery of Hale & Pace on DVD. I used to watch them every week they were on using my little portable black and white TV in my bedroom. Then I sort of fell out love with them and thought them a little … Something.

I don’t know why they aren’t more fondly remembered to be honest. They did their most famous sketch in the first show, and some of their returning characters are brilliant. They shared that Sunday night ITV slot with Spitting Image and The New Statesman but just don’t seem to get the same sort of nostalgic admiration.
