Bill Hicks On Paramount City

Paramount City was a BBC late night stand up comedy show, filmed at the London venue, and aired for two series in 1990-1. The first series was hosted by Arthur Smith, and the second by Curtis and Ishmael. Simon Day had a residency as Tommy Cockles, a few years before he would later appear on The Fast Show.

I watched this show when it was on, and didn’t realise quite how many US acts I got to see perform, including Chris Rock, Paul Provenza, Janeane Garofalo, and Emo Phillips.

Here’s Bill Hicks taking the stage on 29th June 1991.

On the same show were Roy Hutchins, Shame Ritchie, and Rondell Sheridan.
