Sitcom Advent Calendar Day Nineteen

It’s quite possible that this is the only ITV sitcom sitting behind a door. Hope It Rains was written by John Esmonde & Bob Larbey, and starred Tom Bell and Holly Aird.

In the 1991 opening episode, wax museum owner Harry Nash meets his 18 year-old god-daughter for the first time. The title comes from the fact that people will only walk into the museum on rainy days in the failing tourist seaside town, and this premise is nicely presented in the opening shot of the series.
