From the 2003 Red-Nose-A-Thon, here’s a special edition of University Challenge hosted by Angus Deayton. On one team we find David Baddiel, Frank Skinner, Stephen Fry, and Clive Anderson. On the other, Jeremy Beadle, Gina Yashere, Danny Baker, and Johnny Vaughan.

And here’s a fun fact about University Challenge. In 1975, a Victoria University of Manchester team (including one David Aaronovitch) answered every question “Che Guevara”, “Marx”, “Trotsky”, or “Lenin”. This was to protest that Oxford and Cambridge were allowed to enter individual colleges. They were hoping to make the episode unbroadcastable.
