Loved By You

Following on from the lacklustre response to the British remake of Married … With Children, Carlton persisted with their project to remake all of the succesful US sitcoms, next turning their attention to Mad About You. Paul Reiser’s sitcom hadn’t really been seen on terrestrial screens in 1997, and so they renamed it Loved By You, and cast the always reliable John Gordon-Sinclair in the main role, alongside Trevyn McDowell in the Helen Hunt role. Like The Upper Hand, the show used anglicised versions of the US scripts.

Unlike the US version, Loved By You didn’t really spark with audiences, and only ran for two series and 13 episodes.
