Hi simon
I was just reading your tips on comedy. I did a bit of stand up in my 20’s but never got over the nerves. I’m now 42 and am thinking of trying again as has always irked me that I never gave it a proper go. My problem with writing is that I’m more anecdotal. If I write things down then they become stilted and too formal. I used to go on stage with no material and slightly drunk which always ended in disaster. Any tips on this, getting over the nerves and finally is 42 too old to have another go?
Kind regards.

Never drink before going on stage, and always have some material prepared. Embrace the nerves.
