Jacko’s Real Name

I’m binge-watching Brush Strokes.

Because of you.

Created by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey, the show aired on BBC One from 1986 to 1991. It had some serial, soap-like elements, which may have accounted for its large viewing figures. It’s charming, and worth a revisit.

I wish I could find the Comic Relief sketch from 1989 featuring Karl Howman and Howard Lew Lewis, but I can’t.

As far as I know, we never learn Jacko’s full name.

Maybe Jacko is a nickname for Jack or John. Or maybe it’s a shortened version of his surname Jackson. Here’s some more possibilities.

Jack Jacko Jackson.

John Fiztgerald Jackson.

Juan Sebastian Jacko

Jacko Edson Arantes do Nascimento.

Jacko Rumpole.

Jacko Horatio Magellan Crunch.

Norville Jackson Rogers.

Ad Jackson Nauseum.
