The Balance Sheet Barrier

There’s a book to be written, or a series of blogs at least, about Video Arts. John Cleese was the co-founder, and for decades now they have been using top comedy talent to make corporate and training videos. I mentioned the ones that Rik and Ade did in Proctology, but here’s a teaser of the one Dawn French did in the late 1970s, probably her first screen credit*.

The Balance Sheet Barrier was directed by Peter Robinson, and written by Antony Jay – who went on to write Yes, Minister.

Interestingly, it was re-made years later, this time using motion graphics.

*thanks to BrokenTV, it appears that Dawn’s version of the video was made in 1993, and the 1977 version was made with the Two Ronnies. Here’s the accompanying book …
