The Chicago Teddy Bears

The US networks used to make so many sitcoms that they explored some really strange ideas and precincts. The Chicago Teddy Bears was a CBS show that aired for thirteen episodes in 1971. Originally conceived as a returning vehicle for Ann Sothern, who hadn’t had a regular role since My Mother The Car, after the pilot, she was written out of the show altogether. It also starred Dean Jones, John Banner, and Jamie Farr.

It’s about the Mafia in the 1920s, during Prohibition. A proper yuck fest of a period.
