Rivas Were Ace

I mean, I never actually had a Riva, nor do I know what they taste like, but we’ll get back to that. Another chocolatey treat I never partook in was the McVities Ace, and until this morning, I’d never heard of them either. According to Marketing Week in 1996, the Ace was launched to rival the Jacob’s Club.

The plan was to withdraw their Gold biscuit, and make it a variant of the Ace.

I think the adverts are really cute, and the animation is excellent.

And this one is great too.

At some point McVities gave up and just bought Jacob’s outright, and relaunced the Gold bar as a Club variant.

Moving on to the the Riva. All I know about it is this ad campaign.
