The Office: The Accountants

I’m a big fan of owning the physical media of a show or film, but streaming is also a convenient thing. I’ve been debating whether or not the get The Office boxset, and this may have just tipped the balance more in its favour.

This is the first of 10 webisodes, made during the second season.

There’s no real reason these coulnd’t be put on the stream too, but they are on the DVD.

It looks to me like these were a big part of how the wider cast was fleshed out, and these short webisodes must have helped the direction of those decisions.

They were also a massive bone of contention, and were a large part of the 2007 Writers Strike. NBC refused to pay residuals to the writers, claiming they were promotional material, in spite of being monetised with YouTube adverts.
